Dark History of Providence

Category:
book/scroll
Description:

English by Mary-Anne Carden, 1910

This thin book is available from most local bookstores though it is thought to be mostly bunk.

The book details some of the stranger things in Providence, as well as some of the odd tales that fill the city. Most are vague and only recount the stories without filling in particulars. Others have some remarkable and disturbing details. The entire book is fairly badly written, but stories include the tale of Abigail Hardy, and alleged witch who lived in Providence, the strange things that happened around the Church of Starry Wisdom and its dissolution in May of 1877, and even stories of a certain shunned house, though details are lacking about the latter.
